My Dad and Stepmom visited last week, and we went on some day trips. This is a Nature Conservancy Preserve near Abita Springs called the Abita Creek Flatwoods Preserve. There is a nice boardwalk thru the wetland preserve called the Pitcher Plant Trail. I am anxious to return in the warmer weather to see the pitcher plants. We saw old, dried up plants from last year, and it looks like there are quite a few.

Thank you Rawlean, I don't think we have been there. I'll have to ask CopCop. With this weather we may have to do something indoors!

That's a new one on me, Rawlean. Thanks for the heads up! :) That's odd, because I was just doing a Google search for nature trails in the area and that one didn't show up.

Thanks for the links, CopCop!

Here's another link to the Nature Conservancy site containing driving directions to the Preserve:
